Back the bill to curb legal loan sharks
It’s time to regulate the payday loan industry
It’s time to stop the excess profits on the backs of ordinary working people and it’s time to cap the interest payday lenders can charge.
That’s why Unite is backing Paul Blomfield’s bill to curb legal loan sharks. The good news is the bill has already had its first reading, but now the hard work starts. On Friday 12 July 2013 the bill started its second reading in the House of Commons. The debate was then adjourned and is timetabled to return on Friday 17 January 2014.
Please email your MP – use the quick link below and add some text – ask them to help end the scandal of sky high interest rates and back the bill to end the bad practices in the industry by turning up at the House of Commons to back the bill on 17 January 2014.
