Q1 a) Would consideration be given to extending the 20 minutes (paragraph 4.10.3) to 30 minutes?

b) In P 4.10.4 could 3 minutes be reduced to 2 minutes if there are a number of Questioners (at Chairs – Community Governance? Power)

c) In P 4.10.5 in the possible additional options would a single supplementary question linked to the original question or reply require the written answer to be provided to the questioner the day before the meeting, in order to prepare a supplementary question?

d) In P 4.10.5 (4th bullet point)  – how would this work if a written answer was supplied the previous day as in c)?

Additional points made:

·         We made some additional points including making teleconferencing available so that electors, citizens, residents and community and voluntary organisations from towns and surrounding areas in the districts (Taunton Deane, South Somerset, Sedgemoor, Mendip and West Somerset) could have modernised and enhanced access to the democratic process.

·         Webcasting (of Council Committee meetings) is becoming more common.

·         It is important that replies to questions in the Council meetings entered the public domain for reasons of democratic accountability and transparency.
