Local government is experiencing unprecedented cuts with many vital services being lost.
Since 2010 local government has faced the brunt of the cuts to public spending. The cuts will hurt us all
37% was cut from the Local Government budget between 2010 and 2015 (IFS) with a further 56% due to be cut by 2019/20
The poorest areas have tended to face far higher cuts due to higher costs due to greater service need, changes to local business rates and council tax.
25% of the Local Government workforce (over 250,000 people) have been lost since 2010 and services are now cut to the bone.

The cuts will hurt us all
We need to raise public awareness of the local government services our members deliver – including refuse and waste, schools, craft maintenance, social care, IT, libraries, adult education, transport, housing, public health, day centres and social care – before it is too late.
We need YOU to support our campaign to save local government services.
